Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate support specialist to provide care and assistance to individuals with special needs.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing personal care, daily living tasks, social and recreational activities, transportation, health-related support, and emotional support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care: Assist with toileting, showering, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Daily Living Tasks: Help with meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
  • Social and Recreational Activities: Support outings, events, sports, and hobbies.
  • Transportation: Assist with appointments and provide transportation.
  • Health-Related Support: Monitor health and provide basic medical care.
  • Emotional Support: Listen and create a supportive environment.
  • Independent Living: Provide training in cooking, cleaning, and finance management.
  • Medication: Administer or assist with medication according to policies.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records, including daily logs and incident reports.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Report health changes and document support provided.
  • Collaboration: Work with healthcare professionals and participate in support planning.
  • Training & Development: Contribute to team meetings and ongoing training.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support
  • Certificate IV in Disability
  • Certificate IV in Aged Care

Security Clearances:

  • National Police Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Driver's License and Comprehensive Car Insurance

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel
  • Holds a valid Driver's License with a car
