About the Role
The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project is a major infrastructure project in South Australia that involves constructing two separate tunnels and an open motorway. The project is a partnership between the consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia and the South Australian Government.

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping project strategy, managing geotechnical risks and ensuring the seamless integration of complex design solutions across tunnelling, retaining structures, ground improvement and foundation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight and review of geotechnical analyses, reports and designs to ensure technical excellence.
  • Management of site investigations, monitoring programs and assessment of geotechnical risks.
  • Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical solutions into broader project delivery.
  • Providing technical advice to project leadership and stakeholders, including participation in engagement activities.
  • Mentorship of junior engineers and graduates towards achieving Chartered Engineering Status.
  • Championing safety, sustainability and quality within a geotechnical team.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering or a related discipline, with 10-15 years of experience as a geotechnical engineer or engineering geologist, preferably on large infrastructure projects.
  • Proven expertise in project management, temporary works and subsurface and groundwater investigations.
  • Skillset in logging pile, excavation and drilling soil samples, as well as conducting groundwater assessments.
  • Experience calculating and assessing ground bearing pressures for various plant and structures.
  • Strong ability to assess and interpret geotechnical design drawings and technical reports.
  • Knowledge of contamination assessment for soil and groundwater.
  • A team player, flexible and willing to learn new skills.
