Senior Accountant Role

A leading organisation is seeking a talented and driven Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This high-impact role offers the opportunity to lead core financial operations, contribute to strategic decision-making, and drive continuous improvement across the business.

About the Finance Team

The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency. Working closely with senior leadership, this individual will provide critical insights and ensure the integrity of financial processes across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead month-end close processes, including accruals, prepayments, and payroll accounting
  • Prepare and analyse management reports, budgets, and forecasts
  • Oversee BAS, IAS, payroll tax, and WorkCover submissions
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts with accuracy and timeliness
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business growth initiatives
  • Mentor junior finance staff and promote a culture of excellence and accountability
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years' experience in accounting or financial management
  • Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel and familiarity with platforms such as Xero, MYOB, or similar
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
