Sydney, New South Wales, Australia beBeeForestry Full time $90,947 - $124,959

Job Overview:

This role is pivotal in driving sustainable forest management across Wales' diverse landscapes. As a key professional, you will be responsible for leading contract management and implementation of forest operations, including clear-felling and restocking, as well as managing low-impact silvicultural systems to support the delivery of our Forest Resource Plans.

The successful candidate will collaborate with internal and external partners, supporting a Senior Officer in their allocated geographic area and/or silvicultural specialism. You will require attention to detail and thrive on hands-on site management, preparing bespoke contracts using GIS and IT tools, working closely with customers and contractors to identify constraints and opportunities, and ensuring work on the ground is carried out safely and to a high standard.

This opportunity allows you to contribute to business planning, participate in NRW technical forums or represent NRW on external platforms as a technical representative, interact with peers in NRW to promote consistent industry practices, and undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post.

We are committed to equal opportunities and guarantee interviews for candidates with disabilities who meet the minimum selection criteria. We strive to attract and retain talented staff, ensuring competitive pay scales.

This position requires experience in various land management disciplines, knowledge of sustainable forest management, UKWAS and forest certification schemes, community liaison and public engagement activities, designated sites, and all aspects of forest practice, including land liabilities, forest planning, and forest operations.

A strong understanding of Welsh language skills is an asset, and we encourage and support staff to learn, develop, and use their Welsh language skills.
