Senior Mental Health Clinician Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced mental health clinician to join our team at Eastern Health. As a Senior Mental Health Clinician, you will be working with children and young people who require support for their mental health.
About the Role
The successful candidate will have current Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Registered Psychiatric Nurse registration with AHPRA, as well as at least five years of clinical experience working with children or young people. They will also possess strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work as part of a diverse team.
Responsibilities
- Managing and prioritising referrals for the ICYMHS community and specialist teams
- Telephone and face-to-face assessments of young people presenting with acute and/or complex mental health concerns, including coverage of Box Hill Hospital Emergency Department during business hours
- Short term intervention for young people and their families, including Family Therapy with the reflective team
- Primary and secondary consultations to other service providers
- Providing supervision and support for junior clinicians in the Access Team
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- Current Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Registered Psychiatric Nurse registration with AHPRA; for Social Work, eligibility for membership of AASW
- At least five years clinical experience working with children or young people
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
