Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our Substance Use Recovery Southern Melbourne (SURe) program in Box Hill. As a Counsellor, you will work with a dedicated team of professionals to provide accessible, high-quality therapeutic AOD counselling and associated health services to our target group.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic AOD counselling and associated health services to individuals and their families.
- Reduce AOD-related harm to individuals and their families to promote recovery.
- Identify co-occurring mental health, social, and primary health issues associated with substance use and provide integrated and collaborative counselling and support.
- Deliver a welcoming, hopeful, strength-based, family-inclusive, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, culturally appropriate, dual diagnosis capable service.
- Utilise MARAM and trauma-informed frameworks to support individuals experiencing family violence.
Requirements
- Completed tertiary qualification in Mental Health, Social Work, Psychology, or AOD-related field.
- Experience in providing counselling to individuals, families, and groups for both voluntary and mandated clients.
- Diploma in AOD and completed competencies in AOD are highly regarded.
