About the Position

  • We seek an enthusiastic and self-motivated Principal Telecoms Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • The successful candidate will be comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic.
  • The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high-level and low-level design documentation, including architecture diagrams, network design reports, and integration procedures.
  • Configure, integrate, and test network equipment across multi-vendor platforms, primarily Cisco and Juniper routing and switching infrastructure.
  • Perform site and factory acceptance testing, including pre-commissioning, commissioning, and network Migration activities.
  • Lead fault isolation, network diagnostics, and root cause analysis across transport and access layers.
  • Ensure network designs comply with safety, security, and redundancy requirements, especially in rail and mission-critical environments.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to skills development and knowledge transfer across the engineering team.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Network Engineer with hands-on design, configuration, and integration experience in critical infrastructure environments.
  • Cisco CCNP and/or Juniper JNCIS/JNCIP certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Telecommunications, or related field), eligible for or holding full membership with Engineers Australia.
