Job Title: Principal Manager, Strategic Asset Management

As a key member of the Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) team, you will play a critical role in leading the strategic asset management and investment functions. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the effective coordination of investment prioritization decisions, monitoring, and reporting, as well as facilitating program delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic asset management and investment functions for MSQ, providing expert advice and services to support the organization's objectives and outcomes.
  • Manage the Maritime Infrastructure Investment Program (MIIP) within the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP), ensuring compliance with governance requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with MSQ stakeholders to inform the approved investment program, leveraging data, risk, asset lifecycle assessments, and stakeholder consultation to achieve operational priorities.
  • Maintain and oversee branch asset management policies, strategies, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring alignment with TMR asset management requirements.
  • Provide leadership in establishing and utilizing information systems for managing MSQ's assets, informing strategic and operational asset management planning and decision-making.
  • Lead and guide your team in providing expert advice and support to decision-makers and project managers, enabling effective asset management, program governance, financial management, project delivery, and procurement functions.

Requirements:

  • High-level ability to lead strategic asset management functions across a diverse and complex operational asset base, including governance frameworks and processes.
  • Demonstrated high-level knowledge and expertise in financial management to support financial sustainability of investment programs, development of funding options, analysis of whole-of-asset lifecycle costs, and project estimates.
  • Demonstrated high-level knowledge and experience in the use of contemporary financial, asset, and program management tools and information systems, with the ability to translate this knowledge into business improvements and innovation.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate your team to provide a high standard of service and contribute positively to organizational culture and performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication style to a range of stakeholders, including communication of technical content.
  • Proven ability to build enduring relationships and work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.
