Electronics Specialist Opportunity

We have a compelling opening for a highly skilled Electronics Specialist to play a vital role in our team, based onsite at RAAF Base Edinburgh Parks. This full-time position involves working Monday to Friday with day and evening shift rotations.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will perform hands-on preventative and corrective maintenance on complex radar and air traffic control systems, supervise junior technicians, certify tasks, and maintain compliance with defence-grade standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular checks and maintenance tasks to prevent system failures and ensure optimal performance.
  • Corrective Maintenance: Troubleshoot faults in high-tech systems and drive solutions in real-time to minimize downtime and maintain system integrity.
  • Supervision and Training: Supervise junior technicians, certify their tasks, and provide guidance to ensure they meet defence-grade standards.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve complex technical issues in high-tech systems to ensure smooth operation.
  • Integration and Validation: Contribute to the integration and validation of electronic equipment to ensure seamless system performance.

Requirements:

  • A minimum Certificate III/IV in Electronics is required.
  • Extensive experience in a relevant technical industry is necessary.
  • Proven experience with complex electronic systems is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with radar and/or air traffic control systems is highly desirable.
  • The ability to work in a highly regulated, defence-aligned environment is essential.
  • Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance or eligibility to obtain is required.
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations is also necessary.
