High-Profile Insurance Lawyer Opportunity

The role of a High-Profile Insurance Lawyer is available at our leading law firm. This position offers the opportunity to join our highly regarded Canberra Insurance team and work on a diverse and engaging mix of insurance matters, with a particular focus on common law tort claims and statutory workers compensation and CTP claims.

As a High-Profile Insurance Lawyer, you will be responsible for investigating and litigating claims, providing advice on strategy, resolution, and coverage. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to broaden their skills across other areas of insurance, including public liability, regulatory investigations, medical negligence, immigration, and general insurance claims.

Responsibilities
  • Direct client access;
  • Closely collaborate with partners in a strong team environment;
  • Supportive training and mentoring;
  • Advisory work on coverage analysis, liability, and potential non-disclosure and misrepresentation issues;
  • Assist insurers with claims disputes, investigations, and complaints; and
  • Advocate in courts and tribunals.
Qualifications
  • 3-6+ years post-admission experience in insurance;
  • Experience with litigation;
  • Critical analysis skills regarding expert reports, contracts, and/or legislation and regulatory documents;
  • Ability to draft clear and concise communications;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills in conversing with clients and other parties; and
  • Desire to develop your career and professional network in the insurance industry.
