Job Title: Route Logistics Specialist

Job Description:

Fleet Coordinators play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient allocation of deliveries to our vehicles within designated zones. Their key responsibilities include:

  • Allocating multidrop deliveries to vehicles in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Ensuring all freight is loaded on due dates and operational documentation is accurate and completed promptly.
  • Maintaining high standards of morale, initiative, and image with drivers.
  • Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
  • Creating and maintaining strong relationships with drivers, customers, and operational staff.
  • Meeting customer special requirements and maintaining documentation/records of work performed.
  • Minimising outside hire by effective planning of PUD drivers and equipment.
  • Daily absence and leave planning.
  • Daily communication with Operations Supervisors and Fleet Controllers.
  • Daily supervision of allocated rigid fleet activity.
  • Daily checking of driver worksheets.
  • Providing daily updates and feedback to management on fleet and customer operational issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements regarding load restraint, National Heavy Vehicle Laws, and fatigue.
  • Managing pallet control process for respective zone.
  • Performing other duties as deemed necessary by Management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Dangerous Goods knowledge.
  • Good geographical knowledge of Melbourne metropolitan area.
  • Working knowledge of Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
  • Time Management.
  • Road Legislation knowledge.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Safety-conscious individual.
  • Literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Persuasive telephone manner.
  • Intermediate computer literacy - Microsoft Office, Outlook, internal software.
  • Ability to work in partnership with internal departments.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and independently.
