Job Title: Regulatory Compliance SpecialistKey Responsibilities:    1. Provide high-quality advice and support under the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 2003, including identifying and managing complex issues requiring escalation for formal legal advice.    2. Establish and maintain constructive relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a consistent, coordinated approach to policy matters, legislation, and law reform initiatives.    3. Provide legal advice to departmental staff in relation to legislative matters, including written and verbal legal advice, quality assurance of materials, and development of local training initiatives.    4. Undertake research and provide policy advice on matters within the Registrar-General's responsibilities, including streamlining and improving policy, systems, and procedures.    5. Engage with senior managers to evaluate the need for and effectiveness of policies guiding the work of the Registry, including drafting new policies.The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to analyze complex information, and provide sound legal advice.Working Relationships:    The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will work closely with senior managers, lawyers, and other stakeholders to achieve the objectives of the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.Required Skills and Qualifications:    • A strong understanding of the Births, Deaths and Marriages Registration Act 2003 and related legislation    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment    • High level of discretion and confidentialityWhat We Offer:    The Department of Justice and Attorney-General offers a dynamic and supportive work environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development.Applications will remain current for 12 months.
