Job Summary

We are seeking a Land Care Assistant to join our team.

This role involves providing conservation and land care services to the community, caring for and maintaining landscapes within the community, understanding local flora and fauna, and methods to conserve and protect the local environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Select and use personal protective equipment appropriate for various land care tasks
  • Maintain hedges, lawns, gardens, and natural environments through weeding, hedging, mowing, watering, and other basic conservation and horticultural activities
  • Undertake employability training such as mentoring, coaching, and industry site visits
  • Report on conservation and program progress; this may include basic report writing, photograph collation, and printing
  • Carry out basic gardening, planning, design, construction, and repair as required
  • Prepare and process debris and waste materials
Requirements:
  • Show a passion for conservation, ecosystem management, and work outdoors
  • Have access to public transport or own vehicle
  • Hold First Aid and CPR Certificate; or be willing to obtain
  • Be eligible to work in Australia
  • Achieve YMCA's Safeguarding Children Training Certificate and complete annual refresher training
