Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Controller to join our team.

  • Responsible for monthly SAP reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and consistency in cost reporting.
  • Reconcile indirect costs, including flights, accommodation, timesheets and other expenses.
  • Evaluate and ensure correct facility and commodity coding.
  • Prepare and submit Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR) in a timely manner.
  • Support project stakeholders with cost data, RFA and Contract Variations.
  • Assist with updating package monthly forecasts, trends and contingency plans.
  • Support capitalisation processes and raise Project Cost Transfers where required.
  • Manage the cost control shared mailbox and provide support as needed.
  • Report and provide cost analysis to project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance to project controls guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage cost assessments and validate costs accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain the integrity of integrated project cost reports.
  • Develop regular cost and change management reports, providing professional analysis and commentary.
  • Contribute to project cash flow forecasting and update as necessary.
  • Collaborate with contracting and project planning stakeholders to provide informed forecasts.
  • Work closely with planners/schedulers, contracts and estimating groups to articulate implications of changes.
  • Analyse and report implications of changes to the IC or annual plan vs forecast.
  • Provide technical support to project stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working on large mining projects and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Advanced skills in recognised software systems.
  • Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills to verify and crosscheck data accuracy.
  • Familiarity with running reports for extraction of information from SAP.
  • A self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines to meet reporting requirements.
  • A strong team player who can work closely with project members across levels.
  • At least 5 years of experience in project controls delivery.
