National Lead

Drive high-impact disaster recovery across three states, forge powerful partnerships that create lasting change, and inspire and lead a passionate national project team.

This leadership opportunity sits within a dynamic team and reports directly to the Director. As the National Lead – Disaster Resilience, you will oversee the delivery of disaster response projects across New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland, funded by State and Federal initiatives.

  • Manage a national team and be responsible for the rollout of education programs, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to expand the reach of your work and identify future funding opportunities.

You are a strategic and compassionate leader with a strong background in disaster recovery, education, health, or community services. You bring a collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting communities through trauma-informed education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, implementation, and management of disaster resilience projects, including resource oversight.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government bodies, schools, and community organisations.
  • Support and develop a national team of Disaster Resilience Officers, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
  • Promote your work through conference presentations, award submissions, and strategic communications.
Selection Criteria:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, health, or community services, with demonstrated project management experience.
  • Proven leadership experience, including team development, performance management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in disaster recovery with established networks across relevant sectors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and presentations.
