About our role
We are seeking a passionate Lawyer to drive our mission.- Full time ongoing position (part-time considered)
Welcome applications from new Lawyers, as well as those with experience in criminal law, family violence, or related areas who are looking to develop their practice in these fields.
In this role, you'll provide high-quality legal services through casework, advocacy, and advice, including duty lawyer services, early pre-court resolution, and client representation in criminal law and family violence intervention order matters.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new chapter for us in a vibrant regional community and help shape the future of legal services.
- A genuine interest in criminal law, family law, family violence, and/or child protection. Newly admitted Lawyers are welcome, and training will be provided.
- Ability to confidently represent clients in court, communicate complex legal issues clearly, and advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with clients in challenging circumstances, explaining legal matters in simple terms.
- Ability to work well with colleagues and external stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
- A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory).
