Be a key player in maintaining the diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment at Melbourne Airport. We're seeking an experienced Vehicle Mechanic to join our Vehicle & Plant Team, where you'll contribute to asset performance, safety, and compliance.

About the Role

In this permanent, full-time position, you'll be responsible for managing and maintaining a fleet of around 200 assets, including cars, trucks, tractors, mowing equipment, and airport-specific vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform hands-on mechanical maintenance across a diverse fleet
  • Support asset lifecycle management and preventative maintenance improvements
  • Manage data and work orders in Maximo/EAM
  • Contribute to capital works projects as required
  • Champion safety, compliance, and operational efficiency
Requirements

We're looking for someone with experience or training as a vehicle mechanic. A strong work ethic, motivated to learn and develop skills, is essential. Exposure to heavy vehicles is an advantage, as is a safety-first mindset and strong communication skills.
