The department supports sport and active recreation in Queensland, aiming to make more people active regularly. Our office oversees racing and legislation for the industry.

Connecting with clients and stakeholders directly, fostering healthy communities. We provide informed advice, engage effectively, and deliver funding programs to enable participation in sports and recreation.
Key Functions
- Program Delivery: Overseeing sport and recreation programs across Queensland.
- Capacity Building and Information Provision: Supporting local and regional not-for-profit sport and recreation organizations with strategic intelligence.
- Infrastructure: Identifying and advising on infrastructure projects aligned with objectives.
- Collaborate and Partner: Working with regional stakeholders to create partnerships and achieve Activate objectives for local communities.

To be eligible, applicants must have:
- Citizenship/Visa Requirements: Australian citizenship or a visa permitting work in Australia.
- Licences: A current driver's licence is required for travel.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card): Required for roles involving education, coaching, or support services to children.
