About the Role
- We are seeking a highly skilled Policy Adviser to coordinate and undertake policy development, evaluation activities and projects/programs for Health and related agencies.
- The successful candidate will plan, implement, manage, and monitor projects/programs within their portfolio to ensure outcomes and expectations are achieved.
- Key responsibilities include researching and evaluating policies to assess relevancy and potential impact on Government objectives.
- Policy Advisers will provide sound information and advice on current and emerging policy issues to Senior Executives and key staff.
- Maintaining knowledge of current policies and collaborating with stakeholders to identify issues and ensure desired outcomes is crucial.
- The role requires effective communication and consultation skills to prepare high quality written reports, briefs, correspondence, and documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Policymaking and Development: Develop, evaluate, and implement policies and programs that address current and emerging health issues.
- Project Management: Plan, implement, manage, and monitor projects to achieve desired outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders to identify issues and maintain knowledge of current policies.
- Communication: Prepare high-quality reports, briefs, and documents to inform decision-making.
Requirements:
- Advanced communication skills - both written and oral.
- Advanced project management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing NSW government briefs and reports.
- Experience and interest in working in social policy - and ideally issues related to young children and their families.
