Job Title:

Senior Geotechnical Engineering Professional

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced geotechnical engineer to join our team in a key position. As a senior associate or principal, you will be responsible for delivering projects with high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations.

The ideal candidate has significant experience (12+ years for senior, 15+ years for principal) in tailings and geotechnical engineering practice, with a strong track record of managing field investigations and preparing technical reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing project scopes and costing at proposal stage for various projects
  • Managing projects from proposal preparation through fieldwork to final reporting
  • Managing geotechnical investigations including site work, laboratory and desktop investigations and preparing factual and interpretative reports as required by clients
  • Providing technical input in design and documentation to ensure high-quality work
  • Preparing technical documents and managing all project correspondence to ensure project success
  • Providing direction to technical staff to support progress at all stages of project delivery
  • Ensuring that projects are completed on time, quality and budget and to required standards

You will also have the opportunity to share knowledge, mentor junior staff, and work collaboratively with local and global teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualifications in civil/geotechnical or engineering geology (postgraduate qualifications an advantage)
  • Significant experience in tailings and geotechnical engineering practice
  • A successful track record in managing field investigations and preparing technical reports
  • Sound knowledge of tailings life cycle management
  • Demonstrated experience in the mining and resources sector involving civil and geotechnical/tailings, closure and mine site infrastructure engineering projects
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge of geosciences and geo-engineering to solve practical problems
  • High-level analytical skills including numerical modeling capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Effective client liaison and stakeholder management
