Job Title: Regulatory Counsel

Description:

We are seeking a seasoned Regulatory Counsel to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our legal function, you will play a crucial role in shaping our regulatory strategy and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative and policy developments in Australia and New Zealand, providing expert advice on their impact on our business.
  • Represent the team on various workstreams, driving the development of our regulatory strategy and operationalising requirements in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide guidance on legal and regulatory matters, including regulatory engagement, strategy, and product launches.
  • Manage routine and ad-hoc regulatory requests and filings for both Australia and New Zealand, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

Requirements:

  • Qualified as a lawyer in Australia, with strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in a regulatory or legal role, with a strong understanding of the payments industry, retail banking, acquiring, and finance.
  • Critical thinking, strategic mindset, and innovative problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to take ownership and contribute to a fast-growing business.
