Behavioral Therapist Job Description

This is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced Behavioral Therapist to provide individual, group, and psychiatric diagnostic assessment services for our intensive outpatient program.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in counseling or social work, with current licensure as an LISW, LPCC, IMFT, LICDC, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and licensure. A minimum of three years behavioral health clinical experience is required, with two years providing intensive outpatient or partial hospitalization clinical care preferred.

We are seeking someone who is knowledgeable about DSM-V and Cognitive/Behavior Group Therapy skills, and has extensive experience in diagnosis and treatment of mental health, substance use disorders, and dual diagnosis treatment issues and interventions. Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and concurrent documentation is preferred.

The successful candidate will be able to work well within a team environment, communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. They will also demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in meeting environmental constraints and demands placed on services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual, group, and psychiatric diagnostic assessment services for our intensive outpatient program.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for clients with mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Conduct intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive client care.
Required Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or closely related field of study and currently licensed as an LISW, LPCC, IMFT, LICDC, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and licensure.
  • Master's degree in counseling or social work with current Ohio license (LPC, LSW, PCC) considered, if independent licensure can be obtained within one year of hire.
  • Minimum of three years behavioral health clinical experience.
  • Two years' experience providing intensive outpatient or partial hospitalization clinical care preferred.
