The Role

We are seeking an exceptional Disability Support Specialist to join our Allambie Heights Hub team. As a valued member, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and empowering people with disability to live independently, participate in their local community, and engage in meaningful opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver person-centred programs to promote active lifestyles and community participation
  • Utilise positive behaviour strategies to support clients' behavioural needs
  • Assist with personal and hygiene care, ensuring clients' dignity and well-being
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding clients' progress
  • Maintain accurate progress notes and record-keeping
About You

We are seeking a passionate and energetic individual who shares our commitment to making a difference. As a Disability Support Specialist, you will demonstrate resilience, empathy, and self-confidence while showcasing high levels of enthusiasm, initiative, and a positive attitude. Your ability to engage, communicate, and build partnerships with people will be essential in this role.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, you will require:

  • Experience in the Disability sector, with knowledge of supporting high needs clients
  • Able to provide personal and hygiene care, demonstrating empathy and respect for clients' autonomy
  • Personal qualities of resilience, empathy, and self-confidence
  • High levels of enthusiasm, initiative, and a positive attitude, coupled with integrity, honesty, and respect
