Key Responsibilities for Laundry Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to work as a Laundry Assistant in our aged care home. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all personal laundry and linen is laundered correctly, adhering to relevant infection control practices.

  • Sorting and washing linen by wash temperature, colour, degree of soiling, infectious nature, fabric and fibre\
  • Loading and unloading washing machine and tumble dryers\
  • Reporting damage or wear and recommending repairs or replacement as required\
  • Placing clean linen into trolleys for delivery\
  • Ensuring laundry is folded and put away neatly\
  • Collaborating with colleagues to maintain a clean and safe working environment\\/ul\

Requirements for the Role

  • Previous experience working in a laundry setting, preferably in an aged care or hospital environment\
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team\
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal\
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic\
  • Ability to lift 25kg and work at heights\
  • Current police clearance and willingness to obtain vaccinations required for the role\\/ul\
