We are seeking an experienced Urban Planner to join our team in Wollongong, Australia. As an Urban Planner, you will play a key role in providing technical planning expertise and contributing to multi-disciplinary project teams.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and manage site suitability reports, development applications, and Rezoning Amendments on behalf of clients.
- Undertake planning-related duties on a range of project types, including land development, infrastructure, and strategic planning.
- Provide mentoring and informal guidance to junior level staff, assist in assigning tasks, providing coaching, and reviewing reports.
- Work effectively with individuals of diverse disciplines in a cooperative and supportive manner to achieve and meet client expectations.
- Complete all work in line with Stantec's Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec's Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
- Deliver excellence to internal and external clients and their communities.
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams and work independently as a planning project manager.
- Business Development – prepare fee proposals and quotes for clients.
- Project Management – ensure projects are delivered to budget and scope.
- Recognizing the need for change, being open to new ideas and methods, and championing transformational change within the organization and beyond.

- Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning, Urban Design, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Proficient in urban planning research, data analysis, and report writing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the NSW Planning system and legislation.
- Experience in statutory and/or strategic planning.
- Relevant knowledge of Australian standards and legislation.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Interest in working on a broad variety of projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, managers, and clients.
