About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Director to lead our Mental Health, Wellbeing and AOD department. The successful candidate will provide high-level leadership and oversight for the mental health, wellbeing, and AOD services in collaboration with the Medical Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the mental health, wellbeing, and AOD services
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director to develop and implement departmental goals and objectives
  • Lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality services
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, including other health services, government departments, and NGOs
  • Ensure compliance with health funding processes, industrial, legislative, and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and implement safety and quality systems to ensure a safe and high-quality public healthcare environment
Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualification in mental health, management, or a relevant field of study
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to think and plan strategically
  • Experience and knowledge of financial and resource management
  • Proven performance in meeting activity and financial KPIs
  • Knowledge of health funding processes and industrial, legislative, and regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of safety and quality systems
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and enhance partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated understanding of a person-centred, recovery-oriented model of care
  • Current and valid driver's licence
