About the RoleAs a Mental Health Worker at Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service (AWAHS), you will play a vital role in promoting acceptance and reducing stigma around mental health issues in the community.
You will assess the mental health wellness needs of clients and their families, providing case management and delivering culturally sensitive programs to promote social and emotional wellbeing.
The role requires you to engage with families, carers, and clients, providing holistic services that respect Aboriginal culture and empower the local community to take charge of their health and wellbeing.
You will work collaboratively with mainstream health providers to enhance mental health service delivery and foster relationships with the local Aboriginal community.
Requirements• Experience working in the Mental Health sector and/or a Certificate in health/social or behavioural sciences
• Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures with established local community connections
• Ability to cultivate effective relationships with peers and clients
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Commitment to collaborative teamwork and delivering comprehensive community services
