Transport Operations and Business Development Lead

Drive growth in one of Australia's most vital supply regions with Ozwide Freight, a trusted family-owned transport and logistics business delivering reliable freight, warehousing, and distribution services.

The role involves day-to-day operations of each depot, communicating with and assisting our depot supervisors to deliver a prompt and efficient service. You will maximise the use of available resources while keeping costs to a minimum. Regular travel between depots is required to support, assist, and ensure company guidelines are being followed, and depots are running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure NQ depot operations are aligned with company goals and policy.
  • Assist and support NQ depot supervisors on a daily basis.
  • Develop and implement regional business growth strategies.
  • Identify and pursue new customer opportunities across multiple sectors.
  • Build strong relationships with clients.
  • Partner with operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Represent the company at local industry functions, trade shows, and community events.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in business development or account management within the transport and logistics industry.
  • A good understanding of regional Queensland's freight and logistics environment.
  • Proven track record of hitting and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across North Queensland.
