Key Role: Laboratory Manager

The success of our Canberra laboratory hinges on the expertise and leadership of a skilled Laboratory Manager. As a pivotal member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities, driving innovation through automation, R&D, and new services.

Your primary objective will be to oversee the laboratory's quality, client service, and safety standards, exceeding expectations in each area. You will lead multiple teams across disciplines, mentor staff, and develop their skills to ensure the continued growth and success of our organization.

A key aspect of this role is building strong relationships with clients and delivering high-quality results that meet their needs and exceed their expectations. This requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.

We are seeking an experienced leader who can drive continuous improvement and innovation within the laboratory. If you have a proven track record of success in leading high-performing teams and implementing process improvements, we would like to hear from you.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science (preferably Chemistry or Microbiology)
  • At least 10 years of laboratory experience, including 5+ years in leadership
  • Strong business acumen, including financial reporting and budget management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams
  • Deep understanding of laboratory quality standards and safety protocols
  • Proven success in driving innovation and improving processes
