Key Laboratory Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our Canberra laboratory, ensuring quality, client satisfaction, and safety standards are consistently met.

Main Responsibilities
  • Overseeing day-to-day laboratory operations and production workflows to deliver high-quality results
  • Leading and mentoring multiple teams across disciplines to achieve business objectives
  • Driving innovation through automation, research and development, and new services to improve operational efficiency
  • Building strong relationships with clients and delivering excellent service to meet their needs
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including NATA accreditation and ISO 17025 standards
  • Promoting a proactive health and safety culture across all laboratory activities
  • Representing the organization at industry events, sharing insights and trends
Requirements
  • A degree in Science (preferably Chemistry or Microbiology) as a minimum qualification
  • Significant experience in laboratory leadership roles, with a proven track record of success
  • Strong business acumen, including financial management and reporting skills
  • A collaborative and motivational leadership style that fosters team engagement
  • Deep understanding of laboratory quality standards and safety protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation within a dynamic work environment
