Hotel Operations Manager Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a landmark hotel opening in one of Victoria's most exciting waterfront destinations.


Job Description

You will play a key role in setting up the front office department for success and creating a warm atmosphere that makes our guests feel at home.


Key Responsibilities
  • Create and implement operational procedures (SOPs) for the front office department, including guest check-in/check-out procedures, room allocation, handling guest inquiries, and managing reservations.
  • Oversee the hiring and training of all front office staff.
  • Coordinate the setup and integration of technology such as property management systems (PMS), point-of-sale (POS) systems, and other software necessary for smooth operations.
  • Contribute to the development of strategies to enhance the guest experience from check-in to check-out and all services in between.
  • Manage day-to-day staffing needs, plan and assign work, establish performance goals for team members, provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback.
  • Act as a liaison between the front office department and other hotel departments to ensure seamless coordination and communication during the pre-opening phase.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher education qualification in Hotel Management or Business Administration.
  • Three years of guest service/hotel experience with at least two years in a management capacity.
  • Demonstrated capability of collaborating with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills and passion for developing your team.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to explore new ways of working.
  • Full working rights in Australia without restrictions.
