Job Description

This is a 12-month contract with a salary of $106,667 per annum plus superannuation (pro rata). You will oversee research projects and governance, collaborating with the Clinical Research Coordinator. Additionally, you will work closely with clinicians to plan, execute, and deliver impactful clinical research.

The Opportunity

The Junior Post-Doctoral Researcher will be mentored by a Senior Post-Doctoral researcher to assist with leading research within the Orthopaedic Research Group. The role will involve developing new research, leading current research projects, and maintaining oversight of the research governance along with the Orthopaedic Clinical Research Coordinator.

You will work as part of a team directed towards high-quality clinical research focusing on translation to and transformation of clinical practice. Alongside the Senior post-doc, the Junior post-doc role will work closely with clinicians from all research streams to support the planning, execution, and delivery of high-quality research studies according to planned timelines and milestones.

Your Responsibilities Include:
  • Conducting ethical research at the highest level of integrity and in line with the Australian Code for Responsible Conduct of Research and MCRI policies;
  • Undertaking high-calibre competitive research;
  • Successfully writing and submitting grant and ethics approval applications;
  • Fostering relationships with key internal and external stakeholders;
  • Contributing to the supervision of students and to the skill development of peers;
What We Need From You:
  • A relevant PhD/Doctoral qualification and relevant postdoctoral experience;
  • Evidence of postdoctoral research outputs and impact as evidenced by publication records (including first or senior author papers), conference attendance;
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated relevant computer skills and an understanding of a range of research methodologies and their application in empirical research;
  • Experience in knowledge sharing, development, mentoring, and support of employees and students;
