About the Role

Bushfire response and planned burn decision-making rely on timely and accurate fire weather intelligence. A specialist is sought to provide expert advice and deliver a report guiding the selection of an effective fire weather intelligence platform. The role involves analysing current and future fire weather intelligence needs, developing clear recommendations, and informing decisions on technology to enhance predictive services.

  • Analyse complex fire weather and intelligence system requirements.
  • Provide expert advice reviewing fire behaviour systems for Victorian fire and land management agencies.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement capturing business requirements for CFA and DEECA.
  • Ensure documentation reflects user needs and quality standards.
  • Develop an evaluation framework comparing system options against sector requirements.
  • Conduct a market scan providing a shortlist of suitable technologies.
  • Produce an options analysis and recommendations report guiding Vic PSG decisions and investment.
About You

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Senior business analyst experience in fire service or land use planning.
  • Experience synthesising complex technical information into specifications.
  • Demonstrated leadership of multi-agency stakeholder workshops.
  • Ability to elicit complex technical requirements.
  • Understanding nuanced and complex requirements from multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience providing authoritative advice on system solutions.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification desirable but not essential.
