Job Opportunity: Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician
Role SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and culturally sensitive Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. The successful applicant will provide responsive and culturally appropriate mental health care to Aboriginal communities in the Sutherland and St George geographical areas.
Main Responsibilities- Mental Health Consultations: Provide regular mental health consultations, health promotion, and consultation liaison role to Aboriginal consumers.
- Cultural Awareness Programs: Assist with community development and cultural awareness programs to promote social cohesion and understanding.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment. They will also have knowledge of Aboriginal culture and an understanding of the social determinants of health that affect Aboriginal people.
Essential Skills and Qualifications- Cultural Competence: Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and social determinants of health.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
The successful applicant will be required to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to Aboriginal consumers.
