Key Responsibilities
  • Advising the Divisional CEO and wider Senior Leadership Group on the legal implications of all major decisions, strategies, and transactions of Corporate Markets;
  • Leading the Legal function within Corporate Markets, ensuring the right infrastructure, technology, and tools to support a productive and efficient Legal team;
  • Negotiating or reviewing and approving all material contracts and agreements between Corporate Markets and its clients, suppliers, and third parties;
  • Providing advice to the Senior Leadership Group concerning matters of MUFG Pension & Market Services policy and risk management, and seeking to ensure compliance with such policies and minimization of risks to Corporate Markets and MUFG Pension & Market Services.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Laws and admission to practice as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW (or equivalent jurisdiction) and a current Practising Certificate;
  • A minimum of 10 years PQE, with experience in commercial contracts and financial services regulatory compliance;
  • Has led a Legal team in prior roles - both Corporate Legal and in-house experience highly desirable;
  • Has a sound understanding of regulatory frameworks across UK and India highly desirable.
