Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our team at HITACHI ENERGY AUSTRALIA PTY LTD. As a key member of our Grid Edge Solutions team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing control systems for microgrids and battery energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy control schemes for complex grid-connected battery projects.
  • Manage the design, integration, deployment, and commissioning process for control systems both on-site and remotely.
  • Act as a technical lead, approving design deliverables and reviewing project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Assist in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs.
  • Represent the function in standardization committees and communicate with external stakeholders.
  • Review, develop, and document quality standards, processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Ensure safe working procedures and practices are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or master's degree in electrical engineering discipline with three years' work experience.
  • Experience with standard communication protocols: MODBUS, DNP3, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, etc.
  • Understanding of control systems for generator connection to the grid.
  • Familiarity with grid interconnection SCADA requirements for AEMO and various TNSP.
  • Knowledge of design and commissioning of control systems in the renewable industry is preferred.
