Financial Advocate Position

The financial health of an organization is paramount. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding the financial standing of our organization by conducting meticulous and thorough financial assessments of uninsured or underinsured individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct methodical and detailed financial assessments of uninsured or underinsured patients and assist with applications for federal, state, and local programs that cover patient expenses.
  2. Evaluate patient data to determine potential eligibility for third-party resources, analyzing income, assets, household composition, and physical conditions while adhering to government regulations.
  3. Maintain effective communication with patients to ensure complete understanding of financial assistance programs, meeting with patients to discuss application processes, and explaining eligibility requirements and verification processes.
  4. Represent patients who require advocacy at various offices, maintaining open communication with relevant parties and escalating issues as necessary.
  5. Ensure knowledge sharing among case management teams and other key department members, meet minimum conversion targets, and monitor patient accounts to ensure timely processing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years of college education or equivalent experience in business, social services, healthcare, or a related field.
  • Substantive knowledge of medical assistance application processes, HIPAA guidelines, and proficiency in Microsoft programs and database systems.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, communicate effectively in writing, follow complex instructions, and organize work efficiently.

This position requires successful completion of a comprehensive training program (approximately 40-50 hours) with a minimum passing score of 80%. Salary ranges reflect anticipated base pay rates, and individual compensation is determined based on skills, experience, and other factors within this pay range.
