About This Role

Job Title: Senior Director Work Health Safety

We are seeking a Senior Director to lead our Work Health and Safety (WHS) Unit.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, advice and effective coordination and implementation of work health safety management strategies, frameworks and activities.

The role provides direction across the WHS service delivery areas, including:

  • WHS advisory & support to ensure compliance with WHS laws, regulations, and standards
  • Development and implementation of the WHS Strategy & OV Prevention & Management Strategy
  • Management and upkeep of the CHS Work Health Safety Management System (WHSMS)
  • Coordination of the Health Safety Representative (HSR) Training & ongoing support to HSR's
  • Oversight and support in WHS consultation & communication arrangements
  • Management of the Staff Incident Reporting system and help desk support
  • Staff Early Intervention Physiotherapy (EIP) Services

Key Responsibilities:

  • To oversee the development and implementation of the WHS Strategy and OV Prevention & Management Strategy.
  • To manage and maintain the CHS Work Health Safety Management System (WHSMS).
  • To coordinate Health Safety Representative (HSR) training and ongoing support to HSRs.
  • To provide oversight and support in WHS consultation and communication arrangements.
  • To manage the staff incident reporting system and provide help desk support.
  • To provide leadership and direction in the development and implementation of WHS policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, Business Administration)
  • Proven experience in WHS leadership and management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills
