About the RoleAs a Home Companion, you will be responsible for building meaningful relationships with the residents, creating an environment that encourages independence and personal identity. You will work collaboratively with the Health and Wellness Team and the Dementia Support Consultant to provide high-quality care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support and assistance to residents with daily tasks, such as meal preparation, personal care, and household cleaning.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans with the Health and Wellness Team.
- Support residents to maintain their independence and engage in lifestyle activities.
- Work closely with family members and other village staff to ensure seamless care and support.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Certificate III in Individual Support/Aged Care/Community Services.
- Experience working with aged people living with dementia or experience working with aged people or NDIS clients within their own homes.
- A willingness to learn about various forms of dementia and how best to support residents.
- An energetic, positive attitude with a genuine interest in and compassion for aged people living with dementia.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with residents, family members, and village staff.
