About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solar Engineer to join our team at Personal Mini Storage. As a Senior Solar Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, review, and assessment of renewable energy projects, working closely with our team of experts to provide technical consulting services throughout the development, financing, procurement, and construction phases of large-scale solar farms, standalone storage plants, and hybrid renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical due diligence of pre-construction through to operational solar and storage projects
- Providing assurance on project viability through pre-feasibility and red-flag assessments
- Developing technical specifications and providing assistance to clients for all aspects of solar farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) construction
- Developing, reviewing, and executing Owners, Lenders, and Independent Engineer scopes of work
- Conducting greenfield site visits to appraise the characteristics of potential development sites
- Design support and feasibility studies for solar and storage projects
- Completion of performance reviews and evaluation of solar farm installations
- Designing efficient solar farms and BESS considering complex site constraints
- Assisting clients with procurement, including contract negotiation and tendering
Working with Our Team:
As a Senior Solar Engineer, you will work closely with our team of experts, including solar and storage engineering specialists, and other teams within the Energy Systems landscape, such as the Wind, Civil, and Energy Storage Teams. You will be responsible for engaging with a wide range of clients, including developers and financial institutions, to establish how our capabilities can help answer their questions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering or Science degree in solar or renewable energy or other relevant discipline (i.e. mechanical, civil, electrical engineering with relevant professional experience)
- Approx. 8 to 10 years of professional experience
- The right to live and work in Australia (Visa, Permanent Residency, Citizenship)
- Knowledge, skills, and experience required for the position are: experience in the solar and storage industry, good organisation and time management skills, adaptability, and able to cope with a wide variety of tasks, ability to produce clear written reports and communicate verbally in English, ability to work effectively with colleagues in a team environment, flexibility, adaptability, and creativity, proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel
