Job Description:

We are seeking an exceptional Teaching Fellow to join our team at La Trobe University. As a key member of the Crime, Justice and Legal Studies team, you will contribute to excellence in teaching and learning across our curriculum.

About the Position:

This fixed-term position is designed to help deliver the Crime, Justice and Legal Studies curriculum by contributing to tutorials and marking in large enrolment subjects. You will work closely with the Crime, Justice and Legal Studies team to develop and teach courses that prepare students for careers in law enforcement, criminology, and related fields.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and teach courses in crime, justice, and legal studies, including lectures, tutorials, and workshops
  • Contribute to curriculum development and review to ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices
  • Mentor and support undergraduate and postgraduate students in their academic and professional development
  • Participate in research and scholarly activities to maintain expertise and stay current with industry developments
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and respect within the university community

Requirements:

  • Completed a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or a Master's degree in a related field
  • Evidence of participation in higher-level study relevant to the discipline or professional area
  • Demonstrated ability to be effective in teaching and curriculum development in face-to-face, blended, and online modes
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with staff and students from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated capacity to learn and use subject administrative systems effectively

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, plus 17% employer contributed superannuation and access to on-site childcare facilities.
