Job Opportunity: Risk Management Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our Financial Risk Management team as a Manager, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the oversight of capital management, model risk management and key financial risks.

In this position, you will identify opportunities to enhance risk management processes and their implementation, thereby improving data analysis and decision-making. You will leverage your general insurance knowledge, financial and actuarial expertise to support the review of capital management processes including internal capital adequacy assessment process, economic capital modelling, regulatory capital and scenario and stress testing.

You will also develop operationally efficient solutions using machine learning and other AI solutions for the oversight of key financial risks. Your ability to analyze, interpret data and resolve complex issues is essential, as well as your ability to communicate information clearly and confidently to a wide audience.

This is an exciting opportunity to build technical expertise and insights to embed sustainable and effective risk management practices in the business.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge of the general insurance industry, including the regulatory environment in Australia. Working experience in general insurance actuarial areas would be highly advantageous.

You should have strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with modern data science tools such as SQL, R, Python and data visualization skills. Inquisitive and passionate about business improvement and empirical analysis, you will be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Finance or related field
