The Custodial Case Officer role is a vital position that contributes to enhancing the components of fitness for inmates, managing their supervision, and ensuring their care.

About This Role
  • Deliver high-quality services while maintaining confidentiality and discretion
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain safety and security, as well as promote health and wellbeing among inmates

As a Custodial Case Officer, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing conflicting needs diplomatically and making informed decisions that support the well-being of inmates.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement programs and activities to support health and fitness, including exercise classes and workshops
  2. Conduct thorough assessments of inmate health and fitness levels, identifying areas for improvement and developing targeted plans to address these
  3. Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure effective delivery of health services and support
Requirements
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Fitness or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 12 months' experience working as a Health & Fitness Instructor or similar role
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating clearly and respectfully with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Able to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands, maintaining a high level of professionalism and composure under pressure

Additional requirements include holding a valid driver's license and being able to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays. A high level of resilience, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence are also essential for success in this role.

This is a position of trust and responsibility, requiring a strong sense of personal integrity and ethical behavior. As such, thorough probity assessments, including national police checks, will be conducted prior to employment. Employees in this role are also required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our people.
