Teaching Mentor for Vulnerable Youth

Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified teacher to provide one-on-one teaching to vulnerable young people in residential care and out-of-home care settings.
About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced educator to work with children and young people who have experienced significant educational disruption. You will be required to implement tailored educational programs to meet the individual needs of each student, focusing on literacy and numeracy skills.
You will work closely with the student's care team, including carers, case managers, and other professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to education.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- To develop and implement individual learning plans for students with complex needs
- To deliver intensive teaching in literacy and numeracy to enable students to reach their true potential
- To work collaboratively with the care team to ensure consistent support and communication
- To contribute to the development of the program and the TEACHaR network across the state
