Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a primary healthcare provider, you will deliver essential medical services within a secure correctional environment as part of a multidisciplinary team.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a unique and meaningful setting, providing comprehensive primary health assessments and developing patient care plans. You will manage acute and chronic physical health conditions, administer medications and treatments in line with clinical guidelines, and respond to medical emergencies when required.

In addition to your clinical expertise, you will also provide health education on disease prevention and self-care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to support patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Nursing and unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Minimum 23 years of post-graduate experience in acute or primary healthcare, preferably within the last 5 years
  • Background in Primary Health, Rural or Emergency Nursing, with skills in phlebotomy, cannulation, suturing, and application of back slabs
  • Current Cardiovascular Resuscitation (HLTAID009) and First Aid certification
  • Experience using electronic health record systems and Advanced Life Support certification
  • Recognition as a Nurse Immuniser in New South Wales and skills in wound management
