Operational Risk Management Professional

This is a pivotal role within an organisation, focused on assessing and mitigating operational risks. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying areas of improvement and collaborating with industry experts to achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extract relevant data from the Governance, Risk and Compliance framework (GRC)
  • Support the development of control objectives across risk themes such as data protection, financial crime, fraud, information security, technology and conduct
  • Perform quality assurance work on risk delegates' tasks and facilitate workshops to refine control objectives
  • Map out controls for objectives and establish tracking between obligations and controls relating to non-financial risks
  • Create high-quality presentations for stakeholders

Desired Experience:

  • Prior experience in Operational Risk Management or Audit roles
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries such as banking, finance, utilities and professional services
  • Understanding of controls testing and knowledge of obligations is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse stakeholders with competing tasks and strong prioritisation skills
  • Familiarity with operational risk and compliance frameworks including financial crime, information security and conduct
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills, presence and articulation when dealing with stakeholders
  • Someone who is curious, enthusiastic and enjoys problem-solving
