About the Role

The Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA) is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Executive Leader to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer. As the CEO, you will be responsible for leading the TSRA in its mission to promote the unique culture of Torres Strait Islanders and provide programs for the benefit of Indigenous people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the TSRA in its strategic direction and ensure effective implementation of programs and services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with governments, Indigenous communities, organizations, and individuals at national, state, territory, and regional levels.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the TSRA Board and staff to achieve the organization's objectives.
  • Work closely with the private sector to promote economic development in the region and manage infrastructure programs.
  • Build collaborative relationships with Indigenous people in the Torres Strait region and ensure the TSRA's objectives and role are supported and progressed.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, accounting, or finance.
  • Private sector experience is desirable.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing infrastructure programs and promoting economic development in a regional context.
  • Ability to work closely with Indigenous communities and organizations to achieve the TSRA's objectives.
