Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary:

The role of the Speech Language Pathologist involves providing direct patient services, including diagnosis, consultation, assessment, and treatment. They will also participate in departmental/community programs and hospital-wide initiatives related to professional services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver care consistent with the hospital's vision and values, as well as relevant professional standards.
  • Participate in departmental and community programs associated with professional services.
  • Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Standards for a safe work environment.
Qualifications and Education:

The ideal candidate should have a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or equivalent required. Relevant internship/placement education experience is necessary. Current registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario is mandatory.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical practice and procedures in speech language is essential.
  • Ability to conduct Modified Barium Swallow Studies is an asset.
  • Strong oral communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Expertise in facilitating various modes of service delivery for treatment (individual and group) is crucial.
  • Commitment to excellence and accountability within established professional standards and the organization is necessary.
  • Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills are vital for success.
  • General good health and a level of fitness appropriate to the demands of the position are required.
  • French language skills are an asset.
