Environmental Impact Specialist

Key to this role is collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement impactful sustainability initiatives. This includes working closely with the community to raise awareness of environmental issues and opportunities.
**Job Overview:**
This position involves delivering key projects that support the council's strong sustainability agenda. This includes addressing climate change impacts, adaptation measures, integrated water management, and other complex environmental matters.
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement innovative environmental programs to reduce corporate and community environmental impacts
- Support the delivery of the Council's Response to Climate Change Action Plan
- Provide technical and strategic advice to departments on sustainable practices and project management skills
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of inspiring environmental education/awareness activities and programs including both external and internal
- Use project management skills to assess and develop new environmental programs to achieve best outcomes
**Requirements and Qualifications:**
- Extensive project delivery experience with ability to think strategically, form networks, communicate information clearly, influence others, and drive innovation
- Tertiary degree in environmental science, planning, or management
- Demonstrated project management skills essential with experience in designing and delivering environmental programs
- Demonstrated data analysis and problem-solving skills to respond to environmental problems and opportunities
