
Senior Payroll Professional

We are seeking a seasoned Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex payroll functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end weekly payroll processing for approximately 200 company staff, with a projected increase to 300 in the coming 12 months.
- Prepare PAYG, Payroll Tax, WorkCover, Portable Redundancy Fund, Long Service Leave, and Superannuation returns and payments.
- Interpret and apply complex awards and EBAs.
- Manage payroll-based adjustments such as back pays, WorkCover, and taxation requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of end of month and End of Financial Year processing.
- Maintain full T&A and Payroll System administration, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Provide senior stakeholder engagement and consistent employee contact, responding to queries and resolving issues promptly.
Requirements:
- More than 5 years experience of end-to-end weekly payroll processing (in-house) (experience using COINS preferred, ADP, Kronos, or similar desirable).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven process improvement initiatives.
- The ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines.
- Extensive and current knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance, including payroll, tax, PAYG, workers' compensation, FBT, terminations & STP reporting.
- Experience with interpreting multiple Awards/EBA's/Employment contracts.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams across the business, including Finance and Operations.
